Keeping Myself Warm @ Home

taken 10.26.10
I'm having hot milk chocolate  in my favorite tin cup mug given to me by mister. I have this cup sent through mail in 2003 when mister was still working as part time in Starbucks - Las Vegas.

taken 10.27.10

I'm feeling cold since our temperature dropped yesterday from 28°C  to 18°C . This kind of weather makes me want to sleep all day :). Take note that I live in a Tropical Country, so our winter here is really moist. We have lots of rain too. But I have to do my daily routine - schooling and teaching (and practice cooking... and blogging ;).

On my mind right now is my upcoming trip to Hong Kong this Friday tomorrow. My flight is 6:30 am, meaning I need to be there at least 5:00 am  5:30 am, I don't worry checking in since I can check-in online. I'm afraid I would switch off the alarm and go back to sleep...It happened to me last May (I went home in the Philippines), the plane left me I was late. I bought one way ticket doubled the price of my original round trip ticket :(.

In the morning, it was sunny.
All of a sudden, it became cold and windy.

Reviewing HSK at Dante's

I'm having Latte in one of my favorite coffee shops- Dante's Coffee. No sugar added, the way I like it!

I'm feeling nervous about the quiz (Mandarin Grammar) tomorrow. All the lessons I reviewed previously were gone...

On my mind are the families, relatives, and friends who greeted me yesterday (more than 200s), and I have to find time to reply and to appreciate all their thoughtfulness. For now, I need to concentrate reviewing first :)

HSK is a Chinese Proficiency Test, recognized around the world.
(Just like Chinese as a Second Language Exam)

I am not bothered by the fact that I am unknown.
I am bothered when I do not know others.

Another Year is Added

Projected St. Francis Church
(I Love Jesus Project, praying for the early reconstruction)

Thank you, God, for giving me another year of life.
Thank you for all the people who remembered me today
by sending cards, and letters, gifts and good wishes.
Thank you for all the experience of this past year;

for times of success which will always be happy memories,
for times of failure which reminded me of my own weakness and of my need for you,
for times of joy when the sun was shining,
for times of sadness which drove me to you.

Forgive me
for the hours I wasted,
for the chances I failed to take,
for the opportunities I missed this past year.

Help me in the days ahead to make this the best year yet,
and through it to bring good credit to myself,
happiness and pride to my loved ones,
and joy to you. Amen.
Card from Jane

Many thanks for the advance greetings :)

When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness;
instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven

Repost: Hiking at Caoling

Jinguashi Silvergrass Festival in Taiwan during Fall Season.

Two years ago, some of my classmates and friends @ National Taiwan Normal University decided to hike in Yilan (Northern Taiwan) an hour from Taipei by local train. The place is called Caoling (草嶺) Trail is 8.5 km in length. It lies beetween Gongliao, Taipei County and Toucheng, Yilan County. The trail was an important pathway between Taipei and Yilan (宜蘭), and it has existed for more than two centuries.

Every year of late November, they have a celebration called Silver Grass Festival. The silver grass is in full bloom, and the hilly areas are covered with sleek, satiny grass.Attracting lots of tourist to take a hike in a trail.

I wish I could do it once again, but I have no one to go with!

After 6 hours of hiking, whew, it was tiring but fulfilling!

Here some photos to share:
